Cover baking sheets with parchment paper. In a small bowl combine flour, salt and baking soda. In a separate larger bowl beat butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar together until creamy. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Beat in vanilla extract. Add the flour mixture, beating slowly. Beat in chocolate chips. Scoop Tablespoon-sized balls onto parchment paper covered baking sheets. Bake for 9 - 12 minutes, or until golden brown, switching from one rack to the other halfway, 4 ½ to 6 minutes, through.
